Nice! I've done a few family vids that turned out absolutely great with Windows Movie Maker on XP. I'll have to try this out when I get home!

+Rep for the find!

Yea, Movie Maker has come a long way. Unfortunately my camera films in .mov format, so I'm SOL for WMM.

virtual dub (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Virtualdub) has a plugin that will allow you to change .mov files to a usable format.

i dont use wmm myself, but its nice to see some work getting put into it, its come along way since it came out years ago.

Thanks farlo. The problem is the .mov files are 1280x720p HD motorcycle films, and I'm scared of losing the quality by converting the file type.

shouldnt have to worry, if you have the space, convert and edit them uncompressed. or use huffYUV codec its a good lossless codec

Sweet, I might do that, thanks! I've been using Sony Vegas Pro though, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. No doubt WMM is quicker though.

ill have to chose a new editing program soon, im still using ulead media-studio 8, and since they were acquired by corel, its been discontinued works perfectly with xp, but i plan on making a switch to win 7, and there's no use in staying with a dead program. i've given a try to Vegas and i admit its a nice program, i just havent had a chance to sit down and try and figure everything out with it.

dont bother if you videos are widescreen (i.e. DVDs you burned to your HDD) when you burn them with WMM it sets it to normal resolution, so the picture is squished
