I am looking for my fiance. She loves Fallout, but can not play once she gets to the point where you have to kill the dogs. Is there a mod, or an easy way to, remove the dogs from the game.

Not dogmeat, but the ones that you have to kill. It is just too personal, and with the dogs being in the game, it becomes the main reason she can not play Fallout 3, COD, STALKER, etc. For some reason just about every new shooter makes you kill dogs. . .

Thanks guys.

Hmm, I couldn't find anything on the modding sites that I looked through. There were mods that added more dogs, but I need something that removes them.

Actually, it could even be something that just changes their alliance/demeanor. It has to be just an integer value that is whether the dogs are neutral or friendly or aggressive. Hmmm. . . That could be an easy fix, but I haven't played around with the SDK or anything.

Well i know that there is a level up perk whereby animals become non-agressive to the player, dont remember how quickly that is available though.

There is that, but I am not even sure she can endure making it to that point. Some places they just send pack after pack onto you. Maybe I can lookup a code or something for the perk and add it to her right off via console?

Thanks for that train of though. :)

Edit: +rep. I can just add that perk into console. Completely forgot about it as I've never used it. Thank you so very much. !!! She will be so very happy. It makes it so other animals do the same, but that is a consequence I am sure she will be able to endure!!!!!! Thank you so very much.

For those in need of this "fix":

player.addperk 00031DB5
should do the job.

Hehe, ya me too. I forgot about the perk and thought I was going to have to make a mod or something.

Now if only there was something that simple for STALKER or COD4 or any of the other games she can't play but loves.

Hehe funny funny.

Let me get this straight: She has no problem unloading on humans and mutants, but can't bring herself to kill an animated dog that is trying to tear her apart?? Hmmm... Interesting.

Back in the day of Castle Woflenstien, my SO had the same issue. She got really upset one day while watching me play that game, because I was in the level where the dogs start attacking you and I was wasting all the German Shepard's. I think that was the turning point for her not liking certain games. I am sure glad she never saw the COD dog attack scene or watched me play Fallout 3. That would have really sent her over the edge.

Thanks for the code though. The trouble of dealing with some of the animals is quite bothersome and I didn't want to use any of my perks on this. **** I had the music turned up loud the other day and did not realize until too late that I was being mauled by a pack of dogs...

Well, the issue is that she watched her German Shepherd die in her arms because he got off his leash by somehow undoing the carabiner. She was the one who put him out, so it's stuck with her, even though it wasn't her fault.

And generally it is German Shepherds, or similar breeds, that are used in the games. Makes it too difficult for her to have to kill him herself over and over again every half hour/few minutes in these games.

Ahh I see. (btw I wasn't trying to be insensitive. You just can't see my eyebrows...)

Yes I do love my animals more than humans so I understand. Not a fun situation (been there).

AT least she is willing to play some video games. I can barely get the SO to play Wii sports. She feels that for the most part video games are time suckers.

You must have the most amazing wife ever for you to have been able to accept that. lol

Na, didn't think you were insensitive. Hehe. She likes video games, and has been getting into shooters lately. She's been playing Fallout 3 like crazy since I set it up for her without the dogs attacking.

But ya, she plays lots of games, but even more than that loves to read. She loves Fallout3, Team Fortress 2, Portal, HL2, along with your more typical games like Mario Kart, pretty much any mario game, Zelda, Sims, etc.
