I got a call this morning from the newspaper asking if I could cover a sports press conference because the staff photographer that was assigned to the press conference was sick. I said sure. So I grab my gear and head out to the college where it was being held. I get there about 25 min early so I shake hands, rub elbows etc. The conference starts and the coaches each take their turns. The 2 local Div II schools have won the conference championship for volleyball the last 8 years in a row between them. This year one of them is all freshmen except for 3 or 4 players. When asked how the coach thought they would do this year he replied "I expect to win the conference" and then added "only if we play very very very well" In my head I was like "no crap thats the only way anyone wins a conference championship" All in all I took about 60 photos and 3 will be used and had to stand in the back of a small room for about 2.5 hours.
