MSDNAA - $19 - Students

Got this from another forum. I signed up, as this entire program costs the same as just one copy of an OS from my college. It's through Association for Computing Machinery, so ya, :eek:. From my registration, all you seem to need is a college email, and fill out the rest, which was very simple. As per usual this software is technically for evaluation/learning/testing, so basically for use for your studies, not to pass around to your buddies.

- then you will have to wait till ACM lets you opt-in for MSDNAA membership --- it will take approx. 1 to 2 days --- to check if you can "opt-in", log in to "MyACM" and under the "My Services" tab you will find a light blue box saying "Access ACM’s Student Academic Initiative (SAI) Programs: Developer Academic Alliance (formerly MSDN AA), Sun Academic Initiative, and CA Academic Initiative" --- click on "Developer Academic Alliance" link in this box and if ACM has already processed your payment, you will be able to "opt-in" (however, you do not have to wait for the payment processed email ACM will sent you)
- once you "opt-in", MSDNAA will send you their log-in info within 24 hours (check your junk mail folder - my email was buried in junk)
- once you got your MSDNAA login info, you will be able to log-in here https://msdn01.e-academy.com/elms/Se...spx?campus=ACM and download your software

It will take a day or so to be able to opt in, as your payment has to go through, then you can get your login info from MSDNAA after a bit. I'm waiting on my info to be processed. Interestingly, you also get access to SUN's courses that you can get college credit/certification with. Pretty damn cool.

Ya, seems like a good deal. Surprised more haven't noticed it. I guess they haven't heard of MSDNAA.

To put it simply you get keys for:

And a whole crap ton of other software. Oh, ya, for 19$ for the year. I've already opted in and now waiting for MS to send me my MSDNAA password/login which I should get tomorrow.

I haven't gotten to log in to see exactly what is available, that is just the list the other member on the other forum posted. When I get to log in I will confirm it.

Another key or two for Vista and a couple win7 keys was enough to get me to sign up. Plus I am really interested in the courses through SUN for java/solaris, and the college credit/certifications.

I received my MSDN AA login. There is a crapton of software. I've seen everything that is on that list, and there probably is more. The only thing I wished was there but isn't is Office, but that is okay.

Edit: Downloading Windows 7 Professional x64 now. Already have my key.
Edit2: ISO downloaded and stored on my server. =)
Edit: Same for x86. And from what I hear you get two sets of keys for each version, as the French keys work fine for the ENG version.

taking a microsoft official course, so $20 of the enrollment fee went to this. basically legit, getting access to all these powerful tools.

Nice! Ya, my school has some deal with MS and e-academy, but we have to pay 20+ a pop for each piece of software. I should have looked around and found this before paying that for my last copy of Vista. But I've put it to good use so I can't complain. Either way, much better than paying retail. Sometimes it is good to be a student. Between Dreamspark and this, I'm a pretty happy camper lol.
