As far as overclocking goes - I'm a hopeless newb lol - my main rig is running a Q6700 which has a stock speed of 2.67 Ghz per core. From what I've read, it should be able to handle well over 3Ghz with the right settings, 3.2 is almost guaranteed. It's running at 2.75 now but if I try to push it any higher, it locks up - I've never been one to bother with overclocking and it's just possible, with MY luck that I have the worst overclocking Q6700 in history lol

Hexus got as high as 3.7 altho with some stability issues....

you need to increase the voltage as well to keep up with it. my Pentium D 820 runs @ 2.8GHz stock, and I've got it set to 3.3 right now with no stability issues whatsoever. still idles @ 30-35C and loads around 40-45C

I'm having the same trouble, but with a different cpu. I rock a steady 3.6Ghz, and I can run 4.0 rock solid, with temps in the high 30's to low 40's... What I can't seem to do is break the 4.0 barrier....
