WANT. NOW. ...wait how much? Hmm, maybe I'll just mod mine my own. lol :p

Figured since we have a few musicians on the boards that what could be better than combining music and modding?

That can't be good for the strings...

I'm not sure if its good for the strings or not, but they do stay in tune after folding the guitar. You do have to wonder what kind of side effects will there be from keeping them slack for long periods of time though... maybe none at all, hard to say without any experience.

I am dubious that it stays in tune. I know first hand how any movement at all in the neck and you have to re tune. I would have to see that (on a digital tuner) to believe it. Hell some guitars only take a bump and you have to re tune. I guess it's not a big deal, since given the reasons to fold it, like traveling, you would have to tune any guitar.

Not sure about the affect on the strings. Someone with metallurgy knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it weaken the metal to re stretch it over and over?

The sound of it is what matters. I would like to hear it.

Well you should tune your guitar before you play it anyways just because the strings will go slack a bit (and thus go out of tune) from staying constantly taught over time. They also slacken a bit after playing too. So I don't really see the issue of going out of tune as a realistic problem just because you should tune it before you play it anyways. Its also a good habit to get into as you'll get better and better at tuning by ear and knowing what should sound like what.

That's a great idea actually.. the ability to carry a guitar in a backpack.. I love it!

A bit pricey for me, but if they sound as good as the idea, well worth it. :)

On the guitar topic, here's some amazing looking guitars:

Those are great looking guitars! I like the name "blueberry guitars" too. It reminds me of simpler time... when all a man needed was his dog, a good set of shoes and his guitar. or you know, something like that. lol

Are they completely made by hand? That would be impressive if they aren't using some big fancy machine to get those incredible designs. Either way, very nice looking and I totally want one. No way I could afford one though. lol

The blueberry guitars are completely hand carved. :) I'm not sure about the rest of the manufacturing, but the carving is all by hand. When they started out, the guitars were $500-800, since no one had heard of them. I wanted to buy one, but figured I'd wait since I didnt really "need" one. Now, the same one I was after costs around $2400, and the limited edition build of the same guitar is $5k+ !!!!

I should have bought one sooner. :(

oh man. lol that's a real bummer. At least you aren't alone in that kind of thing. I can't even imagine how many people there are out there that think "if only I would have invested back then!".

I hope they hold contests every now and again, I'd love to at least have the chance to win one! Its a great way to put your name out there too.
