Hi,

Thanks

everything is onboard but have just got a new soundblaster 128 sound card, and i am planning in buying a decent graphics card very soon(about 256mb) the PSU is a standard 1(dno if that helps lol) I also have a cd-r and will probably buy an internal card reader, i also have 1x400gb hdd and 1x40gb hdd, hope this helps

one last thing i have got all the fans working and they look gr8 but should they be blowing out or in or some in and some out?

Thanks

front in
back and top out

side depends on what is needed.

you typically want more air moving out of the case than in for good air flow.

1 more question, my PSU has got 2 power suplies for cd drives and hdd's and 1 for a floppy drive but my new case has got 6 drive bays all together. will i need a PSU with more power suplies on or would a power splitter work, i also have to power the fans.
thanks

first of all the power supply is the whole thing, not the cords. SEcond, tell us what the voltage of the power supply is and we'll be able to help you out.

And before you buy a video card, consult us, cause memory has nothing to do with how good the card is

Yes it PSU are mesured in Waitage not Volts .. :)

as if needing a new one. I dought it as you are only adding more fans right now. Maybe later on down the road you might want to get a better one.

Hi
My psu says 230 on the back, i hav re-cased it today, all fans are working and linked together, on the last fan there is another power plug- can that be used to power another cd drive or hdd. that is the only power i have left(at end of fan link) what should i do if i add another cd/dvd drive
Thanks

230 watts? That's not much, mine is 550. It doesn't matter how may plugs your PSU (power supply unit) has, the plugs can just keep being plugged into each other in a relay sort of fashion, you will always be left with an open molex connector (plug).

Case fan's dont use a lot of power, but it's worth getting a stronger PSU anyway. Most folks try to get at least at 350+ watt PSU before modding stuff (am i right? mines is 400W).

Dave's right, I would recomend looking up an online PSU calculator to tell you how much you use. I usually calculate how much I'll need and then add 50 watts to it. I'd rather have too much than too little.

you probably should get a new psu, my suggestion is atleast a 500w. Alot of high end video cards require this now.
