Cool. It's not bad. For the first 2 days, don't move unless absolutely necessary. Definitely no steps unless you can go up without having to go down for a day or 2. Start moving around as tolerated on the 3rd day. That's what I did. By the 4th day, I didn't need the pain pills they gave me.

oh man. I just had surgery on a hernia, and let me tell you, it's no fun. Everything was swollen and bruised... ugh. I didn't take any of the pain pills they gave me, cause I had to go back to work two days later. I walked slow and grandpa like for at least a week.
I know its not the same as your surgery (which I commend you for) but it affects the same area.....
Anyway good luck man!

It goes something like this.

"Bye bye"
*whack*
*snip snip*
"Errrggg...."
"Take 2 of these for this long and don't have *** for x months. Hope you enjoyed your stay"

You forgot the bit where they make you sign a waiver that says if pregnancy results after the op it's not their fault :D

LOL... the first thing I thought when I saw this thread was "He's getting fixed!" ...and I was right. :)

Wife and I have decided to do the same after the second baby is born (in December, in case I didnt tell anyone!). Two is enough for us. :)

Welcome to the club...

Had my surgery 15 years ago and have not regretted it.

The only bad part of the surgery? It was the most beautiful redheaded DR that performed it. Every thing was like a wonderful boyhood dream until she pulled out that knife. I will forever be psychologically biased against redheads due to that event...

My great grandmother wanted a girl. She gave up after thirteen boys.

Now you're snipped could I borrow her?

Ouch! Check out the VA. They will do it for free.

Yowza! Talk about insult to injury! My insurance covered it. I may have had a $15 copay, but like Rick said, I would definitely take advantage of the VA.. You earned that!

As the others said, its pretty simple. Did mine about 6 years ago (3 girls is ENOUGH!!) Just make sure you take it really easy for the first two days. Comfortable spot on the couch and LOTS of ice packs. :D

Good luck and a speedy recovery!

The VA, like all procedures requires a HUGE waiting time and a lot more paperwork than I'd want to deal with.

Under Obama it'll just get worse
