Hey all, I recently broke my netbook. I still have to run some tests on it to see just how bad it might be messed up but it looks like it still functions. It managed to get smashed and in the process I somehow messed up my Windows installation. I threw the disk in my Desktop and it's still accesable so I'm not sure if it's useable or not. The screen is also ruined.

Initial test's to boot off of a flash drive were somewhat successful. It definitely reads the drive but I think there was something wrong with my DSL install.

Since it's broken its no longer sacred and I think I want to mod it.
I had a few ideas floating around but I'm not sure.

Use the internals in a custom case and make a mini desktop I was thinking maybe experimenting with some plexi.
Fix her up and paint her (might paint her either way just to try painting the case, it has a crack in it though.)

That's all I got so far. Anyone got any ideas? I want it to remain as a functional computer, that's my only demand. (nothing like turning it in to a digital picture frame.)

Last minute thought: I would have to get it from my moms house but I do have a PS2 fatty case sitting around that I always wanted to throw a computer in. Not sure if it would fit though.

How broken is it? If you have a use for such, it might make a nice little HTPC if the screen is busted.

I was thinking about that though I honestly don't have a TV of my own at the moment. It also probalby couldn't handle HD video. Would be interesting if I could somehow set it up as a jukebox with a touchscreen. I don't know the first thing about setting something like that up though. Would be cool though.

The screen is going on my laptop and that's exactly where the internals are going once it's finally deaded :dead:

For touchscreens you can buy kits or there are tutorials around the net on converting a PSP screen for use with a PC.
