Was cutting a plastic clam shell box open with a razor blade when it slipped. The cut is about 3/8" deep and only bled that little bit.

That's gonna be a b**** to heal being where it is - every time you open your hand you'll stretch it.... ouch :s

Did we learn anything here today, kids? The sharp part points AWAY from anything covered in skin. At all times. :D

I put a butterfly on it and wrapped it in electrical tape

I went down to the bone (in my hand) with the end of a pair of scissors, and it was really bad to move my hand, or especially my thumb for a day or two after that (it was the bottom of the palm of my hand, below the thumb).

EXACTLY! That is what my Dad drilled into my head!

I have ripped those plastic deals apart, and had the plastic slide across my hand. Worse then any paper cut!

Just the other day I was cutting the exhaust out of my truck, and on the last cut it managed to fall back on my finger. The fresh cut edge managed to carve a deep 1/4"X3/8" groove in the back of my finger, and about a 1/16" deep slice.

I have a plethora of scars on my hands from working in a warehouse. sometimes you dont realize just how sharp a brand new razor can be. cuts through tape, cardboard and flesh just like butter. :p

One time of cutting the skin off my knuckle and I learned that lesson.

That finger is still stiff occasionally.

I still have a scar from working on the inside of one of those super old beige computer cases, the one where they don't round off any of the edges so they're razor sharp. I've had it since I was a young kid, it serves as a good reminder to always be careful. ...and when working on old computers with sharp edges and super stiff molex connectors to always wear a chain mail glove.

I still remember it in detail to this day too. It bled for only a second or two but it was enough to cover my entire hand in blood, I went to my mother and she had her back to me and was on the phone, I kept trying to get her attention but she just shoo'd me away. Then she noticed what was wrong and shortly after that I blacked out. lol Still get all numb and fuzzy when I see my own blood to this day, never bothers me when its someone else's though.

I'm just the opposite, my blood doesn't bother me but other peoples... BIG TIME.

Same here. Even just hearing about gruesome injuries sometimes it too much for me.

lol, this happened to me when i was building my current loop, i was free hand cutting some tubine and all of a sudden my finger was sliced deep, 1/2" deep and about 1" long. because i got pressure on it though the doctor said i was fine and didn't need stitches.

The only razor-related injury I've suffered was thanks to a computer case as well - was scraping some stickers off my old In-Win A500 years ago, cleaning it up, and my hand slipped - and then tried to catch itself. Caught the razor blade instead. Embedded it nicely in my right middle finger, the fleshy bit on the left side of the nail - it didn't go that far in, maybe an eighth-inch, almost to the nail, just enough to leave a little white scar.

I immediately set everything down and ran my finger under cold water for a minute or so until the blood stopped, then ignored it and made sure to keep it clean for a couple weeks. The flesh stuck itself back together just fine. If it happened again, I might wrap it up to be safe.

Suck it up and pour a bunch of NuSkin on it. Yeah, it'll sting like a b##tch, but it will (somewhat) keep it from getting infected. Like others have said, that's a rather nasty place to get a cut.

I need to take a photo of it. I heal fast and I have been taking care not to flex that hand much. The flesh has grown back together its just the top layer thats still open.

Wow, nice cut, lol. Just the other day I cut the top of my thumb almost all the way down to the bone, lmfao.

Was cutting off the tabs on one of the dash kits for car stereos. I was using a very thin bladed coping saw and was leaning half out the car door to keep the plastic out of the car. A car went by just as I finished the cut and of course I turned to look at it, and slip, coping blade cut right through my thumb and nail as if it was butter.

The only angle I could get on it was holding it towards the hand holding the plastic. Had I not looked away it would not have happened, but what can you do? It wouldn't stop bleeding, but honestly didn't look too bad, so I cleaned it and tossed some superglue on it to seal the cut as it kept pulling open no matter what.

Pretty much all healed now, and it's only been a day and a half. No pics, sorry, lol.
