Posting this here for some quick discussion.

After my speedfan fiasco a few days ago I decided to put my cpu to the test. I ran an initial OCCT test of 30 min and kept an eye on speedfan. It was reading 50c while OCCT was reading in the 30s. After the test I booted into the bios and it was reading 30c at Idle. I checked speedfan when I booted and it was again reading about 20c higher. So I install a cooler that will remain a secret for now and I got even better numbers. These numbers all seem off to me though. What do you guys thing. Oh Forgot to add that I took her back to the stock clock of 2.7ghz for these.

When I used speedfan, I ran prime95 and another test (intelburn or cpuburn or something like that). I had speedfan and realtemp running, and realtemp agreed closely with my two physical probes, as well as Everest during another test session. Speedfan did the same thing as you describe, where the temps were way high. In fact, as soon as any test started, speedfan reported temps of over 60C. 60C on good w/c? idk man....
One thing that's weird, my bios always reports weird temps. I posted my own thread asking about this cause I'm sure your sick of me hijacking your threads :)

Hey speaking of which did you check out that realtemp?

To be able to compare the temps, you need to know what sensor was used-socket, die or board. If the comparison is against two different sensors, then it's automatically invalid. Only on the same program is the comparison possible.

BTW, lemme grab it on this machine and I'll make you all sad.

Look where the temps max.

I downloaded it. I am going to use it tomorrow. The thermal compound used on the new cooler should be cured by then and I can get accurate temps.
