This girl that I work with is seriously starting to drive me bonkers. She called in sick all of last week (she came in for maybe 2 hours all week and went home sick, which she did look like hell when I saw her so ok, she wasnt faking.)
she has called in the past two days as well, and I am beginning to think that she is just using it as an excuse not to work. i mean, seriously? how long does it take to get over a frigging cold?? and of course I am the one who suffers, because when she calls in there isn't usually anyone to call @ 5 in the morning to come do our breakfast @ our hotel.
PLUS, she is supposed to be training a new hire who ended up working by HERSELF yesterday (she only had one day of training) which I tried to help her as best as I can, but I have other duties than babysit a new hire. Sorry I am just a little irritated because the poor new hire girl was supposed to train 4 or 5 days before she went off on her own but she is getting thrown in the mix. sorry for the long post just really pisses me off.

You know, there are pleeeenty of people that would love to have that job. A job, period. I have two people I work with like that. It's like wtF? Why do they want to abuse their job and screw around like that? Why would you want to, at any point in time, if you had even a shred of work ethics? But especially now, when an employer will drop your ass like a bad habit. Idk man, idk.... Just further proof that people are idiots.
Just keep plugging, man. I'm sure your hard work will get noticed, and appreciated by the right people.

yeah, I have a feeling a raise is around the corner for me. and that girl is on her last legs here, my manager said.
we seriously get around 200 applications or so every month. its ridiculous. If she doesnt shape up we will get rid of her faster than a herpes infested toilet seat.

Just to give another perspective on that issue:
I have suffered with many health problems most of my life, and my immune system is seriously weak. If there is a virus going around there is around a 95% chance i will contract it, and where most people might be rough for a few days, i wont be able to get out of bed for a week and a half.
I find it very difficult to hold down a job because of these problems, luckily most of my previous employers have been decent enough to realise that im not taking them for a ride and these problems are for real.

ouch that stinks. The thing is, She will call in and sound just fine, she will complain of having "the sniffles and a headache" and that is grounds for her to not come in. I have been sick all week, and I haven't missed a day :P
the new breakfast girl called me and will be in soon, guess she is sick too. at least she is coming in though. :P
EDIT: she still isnt here. great. guess I will be doing all the dishes after all. I hate my job sometimes. :(

Well, there's a difference between someone with legitimate problems, and someone who is lazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some giant douchebag who says "fire someone if they call in once" but the has to be a limit, thats all.
