Remember back in day when I did a CraftStick Airplane PC (http://www.pcmodhouse.com/id20.html)? Well, even though a lot of people hated that project and wished I never did it. I still thought it was fun and wanted to revisit the idea. This time, however, I will make a case of craftsticks!

1st side is done

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050019.jpg

I don't want the case to be any wider than a CD/DVD drive

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050021.jpg

So I started by adding the lip on which the drive rests on

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050022.jpg

Like so....

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050023.jpg

Then I created the top and bottom of the case just wide enough

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050026.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050027.jpg

Second side is done

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050028.jpg

I use extra drives to stand it up

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050029.jpg

Then I make the lip wider

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050032.jpg

And stand both sides up

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050033.jpg

Then carefully add the top

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050037.jpg

Next comes the bottom. Adding the PSU helps press down the sticks for the glue to dry

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050040.jpg

The bowing sides will go away when the rest of the supports are added

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050041.jpg

Time to build the supports. This will cover the area below the DVD drive

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050042.jpg

Then the lip to the sides where the front will rest

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050043.jpg

Once it's added, I rest drives on top to even out the glue

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050045.jpg

After just four hours, I'm nearly done

haha this is awesome. its like 1 step up from cardboard modding. :D I love ghetto cases, and this one is gonna look really nice once you finish it. will have a cool, wood shanty look to it.

and I thought the craftstick airplane was cool. :)

I don't recall having anything against that little airplane, just as I can't think of anything to hold against this case. If it were me, I'd use twice as many and cut the rounded ends off and put way too much thought and detail into something that's just an amusing proof-of-concept.

+rep for revisiting the popsicle sticks!

boy you don't waste any time, do ya?
+rep from me, for a neat idea and for being more patient than I :)

Nice!

That case reminds me of an outhouse...

So I measured out the back IO ports and PSU

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050053.jpg

And started on it

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050054.jpg

I then cut out some sticks for the front bottom to even it out

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050062.jpg

Here's just a shot of what the inside looks like

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050065.jpg

Next I framed out the CD drive. In this case beige really is the perfect color

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050067.jpg

Look at the front closely and you'll see the "V" pattern I glued on to break up the normal look of the craft sticks

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050072.jpg

I'm still working on the back though

I created a small bridge over the PSU to anchor the rest of the back to

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050076.jpg

Then added some sticks to hold the PSU in place

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050077.jpg

And I am done! Enjoy the rest.

HaHa, great :) I hope you did not have to eat all the ice lollys to put that thing together you would be sucking for a long time xD

I possibly would of added stick diagonally to give more support, seen in some of your pics the sticks curved when adding weight. but fantastic non the less, + rep!
