Hi everyone
I have never modded before but i am a super geek and really want to get into it.I dont have much money but i am thinking of modding cases then selling on ebay to make money.
my question is what are cheap mods that a first time modder can do.
p.s. i have been looking at stealth drives and window mods.

Hello megamodman, Welcome i havent been modding very long eithier i just started not to long ago my first Mod that i posted .
In my honest opinion your on the right track Window mods are cheap ,and Stealthing a drive . Sleeving the psu good kits are around twenty bucks.
even painting a case can be done pretty cheap.
To me a good window mod with a a cold cathode here and a nice led fan there look awesome .
Mind you later on some of the REAL modders will come in and can be more help than me .
I cant remember who it was that told me . There are some great themed Mods.
People do them on there favorite bands , shows ,sports teams , Movies and one of my favorites .
I guess the first mod i saw that gave me the fever was http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8543&page=2
Tech_Daddy's BossFX-57 that mod blew me away the first tiem i saw it .
Well im just babbling now i will shut up and let the real modders talk lol

Look around, use the handy "search" box on the right side there and you can find all sorts of help here, including LOTS of LED references.
On the business side, you're liable to have a tough go of it, unless you can get your cases and modding supplies DIRT cheap. Don't get me wrong, they're out there, cases for free in trash dumpsters even, but be aware of that when you buy your supplies. Cathode tubes and fans can be had very cheap from the right places, just look around. And Liquid was right about the themes, you'll probably sell more if they're based on a popular theme, even if it's just the colors Nvidia or even a popular sports team uses.
Just things to think about.

One easy point: If you make a mod with a window (especially to sell), paint the inside. You don't have to use expensive paint, and it will make a HUGE difference in the appearance of the case.

I don't want to sound discouraging, but the world is a wash with cheap mods and pre-modded cases and I doubt there is much money in it unless you plan on very large scale production. There probably is money to be made on high-quality manufactering on a smaller scale, but you will be competeing with Chinese made similar components and cases which will be sold for less than you will be able to afford compete with and will be much more readily available. If I were you, I'd start modding some stuff for nothing more than the fun and experience you get out of it and if there is an industry in your product it will emerge on it's own. I've just seen so many people try to make a quick buck with this artform and have seen just about all of them (some amazingly talented) disappointed with the market. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Maybe for friends as well. "Hey, I'll put a window on your case for 20 bucks."
Also, be prepared for starting out to be a little more costly than you may think.
