Have you seen a new motherboard that you are dieing to have? Is there a new CPU cooler you find interesting? Maybe you have heard rumors of a new case coming out on the market soon. If you have then this is the thread for you to post it.
Post all the new gear that has you excited.

Well...lets see, I'm looking forward to:
-the AMD HD5870 1GB because the performance of that card is pretty much all you'll ever need.
-the first Lucid Hydra-equipped motherboards (such as the MSI Big-bang), so that I can combine the performance of my HD4890 with one of those HD5870s
Theres probably more, but I'll have to edit this later. :p

Exactly why I want one my friend. I have heard that form too many people; I wonder if I will ever save up to buy one.

I want an SSD too - and I want to put it in my Media Centre.... I know the gaming rig would benefit but I've been gradually replacing the parts in the Media Centre - each time replacing the noisiest bit with the quietest bit that'll do the job - Hard disk is now the noisiest bit so.... lol
-the AMD HD5870 1GB because the performance of that card is pretty much all you'll ever need.
Heheh, how many times have I heard that before. ;)
I gotta say, there's not a whole lot I'm really excited about coming out soon. I mean, yeah, the AMD HD5xxx line will be awesome, and I'm interested to see ATI's new desktop offerings...plus it'll be interesting to see how long it takes for the first GTX3xx to spontaneously combust :P
Not a whole lot of it is gonna affect me though. I think I'm pretty well set for the next year or two; the only thing I might buy for my main rig is another Vertex, and of course, more monitors. Then there's always more HDDs for my fileserver, but I've locked myself into 1.5TB drives, so really the only thing that'll be helpful there is prices dropping.

I'd really like an ION board with Dual Core Atom - in the early early planning stages of turning a 1999 iMac into a PC - going to post it when it's done in every mac forum I can find - see how many death threats I get :P

Make sure it's running Vista for maximum threats!
As for me, I can't wait to get my hands on:
Core i5 750
Gigabyte P55-UD5
8GB of DDR3-1600
Coolermaster Cosmos S (Still trying to get it)
Plenty of cheap Seagate 7200RPM 2TB drives
Probably a 16 port RAID card to go with the above drives (Highpoint most likely)
But for the nerd in me:
A digitally temperture controlled soldering station.
A PCB etching kit
Atmel ATMega32
Heatgun 2000W (with heat control)
Dremel 400
Dremel bench press
And that's all that comes to mind currently!

Mine is also the SSD, but specifically the SSD that plugs directly into a PCIe slot, like the OCZ Z-drive. As with all new tech, it's WAY too expensive, but I want a couple of those so bad I can taste them. (And strangely, they taste GOOD.)
Edit: Oh YEAH! I want a Kindle in the worst way. I'm currently selling organs from my main desktop to fund it.

I'll be spending money on this that I don't really have to spare, and producing a PC that I don't really need - if I'm doing all of that, least I can do is make sure it's usable - think it'll be XP or 7 - I have a dozen or more spare XP licences lying around so probably that :p

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of Windows 7 and if my business takes off building myself a nice new system with either an i-7 or i-9 processor in it.
Edit* Adobe CS4 will be nice to upgrade to soon even though it isn't new.

I'm really interested in a graphics card I saw the other day. It's two gtx 285's on one pcb. I forget who's putting it out, and I can't post the link, cause I'm at work. The only thing that sucks is the triple slot cooler  but seriously, the chance for quad sli with 285's?

The graphics card is the ASUS MARS, it's a limited run of 1,000-which, incidentally, is how much it costs per card.
are you sure kayin, i thought they were about 1500 a peice? and a 5870 or two would massivly beat the sh!t out of them!
that be said, i would really like:
4 5870´s
ocz z-drive
XFX power supply
some waterblocks for the 5870´s:D

To be completely honest, I've been searching Ebay lately for some cheap older hardware. I'm toying with the notion of building something along the lines of Mashie's Tranquility. Why? Because I can damnit!
I'd also love to get my hands on a PicoITX board to drop into my Qube2 box, since I cannot convince myself to drop any more $$ into the current board. And yes, there will be a worklog if I get my hands on one.

They say "it runs to hot..wahh"
I say "Add moar fans d$^mnit"
by the looks of it though, i missed the first boat, and have to wait 3-6 months for one.
might go the same route as my buddy and pick up a 260/275
If you want to get a new card you should definently look into the ATI 5xxx series. No reason to go with older technology. If you keep your eyes open you could find a 5850 with bing cashback without breaking the bank too much

I'm looking at the Acer W500.
Hearing it's better than the iPad, even though iPad is "currently the best tablet out there".
*Not to be confused with the A500.

*Not to be confused with the A500.
check out the specs on the Asus Eee Slate.
Dual core 1.86Ghz Intel i3 processor yo. 256MB Intel Xgraphics GPU, 4GB DDR3 memory and 64GB SSD drive.
it's as expensive as a laptop though at a little over 1,000$... but for that 1,000$ your getting a ipad's handyness. with the full complement of a PC, that means the ability to emulate any tablet OS, including the ipads plus the ability to run full fledged windows.
not to mention things like USB ports and media card readers. and with the included keyboard and mouse (Blu-tooth) you can set it up and use it as a deskop PC.
it's actually powerful enough to run "most" games. it ran l4d @ 1280x800 at 30fps on medium settings. and some other games at totally acceptable frame rates.
Sure the guy next to you is playing some angry birds on his ipad. but your playing world of warcraft.

I need only three more pieces of hardware to finish my new computer build, and among them is the ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131876) motherboard; I have read reviews and seen images of it, and I cannot stop admiring how awesome it is. I dearly wish to purchase it, but I currently am on a limited income, so I must wait, and manage my money wisely, before I can obtain that board, but I am certain that I shall obtain it, eventually, since it is one of the most important and integral components for my next computer.
