All right I thought of this idea as I have my dinky little laptop right next to my nice rig and the nice rig's keyboard right in front of me. Get this: A switch on the keyboard that would switch its output to either computer on the fly. Is it possible? Has it been done? Ideas?

there are plenty of those every where. just go to a computer shop. the trigger is usually scroll lock x2 with up arrow or down arrow. It hooks up 1 monitor, keyboard, and mouse to 2 pc's at the same time.

The one i'm using is a 2 port kvm switch by Belkin. check it out. (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=56&pcount=&Product_Id=134802)there are ones that have audio also but for some reason they cost twice as much.

It's possible to make one yourself as well, if it really floats your boat. I'm planning it for later in the year. Man, this year is full...

Beat me to it. I was going to point you to the same exact page.
