Hey guys. I can't help but wonder How close I was to losing my car today. I was driving to work listening to music and after a little bit I noticed that something just didn't sound right. My bass was gone. I kept driving and assumed I blew fuse or that my old ass amplifier had finally died.

When I get to my destination I pop the trunk and take a look at my amp...
the main power wire decided to come loose from the spade terminal i had crimped on and was floating around in the back of my car. Luckily there was a bit of plastic still on the bare end of the wire.

I can't believe how close I came to shorting out the main power wire. Makes me so happy that i fused the line but I still feel like It was a potentially dangerous situation that could have ended very poorly. I almost feel as if I should have pulled over and checked as soon as I noticed the bass was gone.

And that would be why you put the fuse there. :D

Doesn't sound to me like you came close to losing anything but the fuse. I wouldn't have stopped to check anything because I lost my bass either.

thats why i soldered all my ring terminals as well as heat shrunk them. i did blow my fuse once as well as my sub :( thankfully it was covered under warranty.

i was/am a bit worried about that happening with a cap i have in the back so i made a plastic cover for the cap since it never came with one.
