Yep it is today. What would we be as a society without the barcode?

Does anyone have a scanner? I wonder if anything would happen if you scanned it?

If you scanned it, it would say "google"

Yes, I have a scanner, but mine would not recognize it. I am going to print it out to see if I can scan it. Gimme a second...
I do expect it says Google though.
EDIT: Yes it says: Google
For some reason my scanner does not like reading barcodes off my LCD but will read it on a CRT. Hmmm...

Why am I not surprised at all? I mean really, even the talking monkey next to me was like "I'll give you a thousand bananas if it doesn't say google." ...needless to say, I owe the hairy little bastard a thousand bananas now. I really need to stop taking sucker bets... and I REALLY need to stop talking to imaginary talking monkeys. lmao
They should have also included how much the company is worth currently. That would have been a nice touch. "uh, can we get a price check on Google please? Wait, how much?? Well THAT is going back on the shelf for sure...". :p

I used to have a couple barcodes that would scan my name. I was bored at work one day and printed myself a bunch of labels. i cost $6.66 haha.

Whoa...
Google's homepage always says "google", no matter what the pic is.
So how did you guys celebrate this year?

I was on a kick a couple of years ago and printed out barcode labels for all my friends and family's presents for christmas. At least I was amused. (I kill me really I do)

At work we are investigating 3D barcodes for one of our customers projects (the 2 on the right of the above photo).

I know nothing about the tech of barcodes but I love them, supermarket self-service barcode scanner checkouts nearly always way quicker than queuing when you only want beer :)
