Asus 1005HA - 250GB & Windows 7

Not really a deal or anything, but thought I'd mention it anyways. The Asus 1005HA now comes with 250GB and Windows 7 for $350 and that's with the 8.5 hour battery life. I wish they would have given the RAM a boost though. oh well, just tack on another $30 for a 2GB stick.

Edit: oh yea, this model comes with a matte screen instead of a glossy one too. A small but nice touch imo.

...wait, what?? Windows 7 Starter?? Since when are they selling that in the US?

...and actually, come to think of it, I seem to remember seeing something about MS offering Starter in the US for netbooks for a drastically reduced price...of course if it's anything like Vista starter, you're probably gonna get a lot of people buying Home/Pro upgrades...stupid MS, wanting to, like, make money, and whatnot :P

Well, technically they aren't yet. It's up for pre-order at the moment, but it'll launch here within a week or so.

That's basically the main reason why I mentioned this. Windows 7 on netbooks is awesome, I've been waiting for it. Well, I have to wait anyways, but you get what I mean.

Just make the 2GB memory the standard already though dammit. I can tolerate everything else, but c'mon, 1GB barely cuts it these days. At least they upgraded the hard drive to the 250GB, that's pretty nice.
