Hey everyone.

Been super busy with my real job but here is the project that's been in my garage for the past 2 weeks.

I'm hoping to finish it up in the next week. I haven't even painted the outside yet. I have a really cool idea for the outside paint job though.

It's a Cooler Master HAF case with my workhorse computer inside. All water cooled, Pentium Quadcore, BFG GTX280.... DangerDen Tieton waterblock on the card, everything else is Swiftech.

You never disappoint! From the look of the inside, I can't wait to see what your going to do the outside!

Good to see you back! Just the other day I was thinking, "W(here)TF did Commando go?"

System is looking good so far!

Uhhhhgggg...

I think my GTX 280 is dead in the water.

I think my computer is booting fine but I'm getting "no signal"

Award Bios is beeping "1 long, 2 short" which means video card problem. It's not showing any error codes in the LED. I'm getting a "FF" for good to go.

I've tried everything that I can think of. My only other computer right now is a laptop so I can't test it properly.

I think this is going to be an expensive fix.

I'm going to take the waterblock off and clean it, to make sure there is no errant thermal paste causing a short. But it's a longshot. I think it's dead.

Man.... I'm such a tech junkie.....

I fixed the problem with my credit card.

GTX 295 H20 edition, core i7, new motherboard, 12 gigs of ram, 1200w power supply.....

I call it the shotgun method. When in doubt, it's just time to buy a new computer anyway.....

This is definitely not in keeping with the troubleshooting / broke way to fix things.

I'm by no means setting a good example. But at least I can build a killer gaming computer from my old parts and sell it on eBay.

Everyone wins.

OMG,

I'm not an RMAer but my new GTX 295 was terrible. It was all jacked up...

My new rig is awesome but I'm using a GTX 220 while I work through the RMA process. By the way the GTX 220 is garbage in my opinion.... I get like 30 FPS in futuremark on the low settings. It's terrrible.

I'm hoping to use it as a physics card once I get my 295 back. I'm starting to wonder if it will even be good for that. It's slow as balls.....

I'll post pics once I start getting things together.

You guys rock...

Tony! Welcome back man, I totally missed this thread. Sorry to hear about the video card woes, I'm about to take a plunge myself on some new gear (albeit not quite that caliber) so hopefully it's not a widespread issue. The case looks great BTW, love that color!
