All Right...

I have an idea for a piece of art almost all the way fleshed out, but I need some advice on LED's and such.

I have a bunch of these Glass Gems/Rounds

and they would be attached to a round or hexagonal piece of wood like this

the closer they get to the middle they are higher, maybe 1mm or 2mm, and 64 LED's like this

I would like to power it using a AC wall outlet, I have this switch that I would like to use.

My Question is what Resistors and other stuff do I need, and what layout do I put them in.

Thanks in advance,

TJM

Nice project! Resistors depend on your leds. Check here once you know which leds that you are going to use. http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz

I'd say wire them in series, making 6 Js and a series for the center (2x5 arrays?) but it'll boil down to the limit of your leds.

Thanks for the Advice Mach,

from what I understand with the link you gave me,

I would use Six J's using 3x3 arrays, each of them drawing 60mA from the source, and one 2x5 array drawing 100mA from the source.

Is this correct and would this AC to DC power converter work?

Snipping off the End and using the Leads to power the LED's.

Thanks for all the help

Amperage is fine. I'm assuming you used 7.5 volts in the led calculator(?). If so, should work. I believe that you'll wire the described series arrays in parallel with one another.
