That commercial makes me so mad. They are just grasping at anything now.

"Oh sh*t, Microsoft actually made something that works! And it's better than we thought it would be! People are going to buy into it for sure, and since we refuse to admit any hardware faults in our products, people are going to be grow brains, and realize that we are just selling fancy PC's with a proprietary operating system, and a limited upgrade path!"

I dunno, I actually giggled at that one--especially Windows guy for 3.x. Miami Vice FTW.

Personally, I hope truenuff does a parody.

Nice compliment by Apple. They couldn't find anything wrong with Windows 7 so they had to bash on the older OS's. Which true, they all did have problems at release. So it's not that it's untrue, but it will be and already obviously is untrue for Windows 7. It's not a very smart commercial in my opinion. They're trying to make a point, but that point will never be made. Windows 7 has broken the chain of repeating past experiences. We all knew that since the RC was released. So it makes me wonder... is Apple just complimenting Microsoft or are they really that blind? Because the facts have been out for quite awhile now and many people have been saying good things about Windows 7 since RC, which was quite awhile ago...

Well, that's just Apple I guess. They could have made an intelligent commercial or one that actually has some meaning in it in any kind of way, but this is Apple, it's what they do. They bash on Windows repeatedly and without fail. It was kind of fun at first, but it's getting kind of old now and especially with such material as "Well Windows 7 is... well it's going to!! ....uh... YOU'VE HAVE A CRAPPY TRACK RECORD! LOL!!". Seriously, that's all I got from that commercial. It's a commercial that is the equivalent of most youtube comments. They're just kind of there... but nobody is really paying attention to them.

I would like to see these kinds of commercials continue with actual meaningful bashing though. It can only be a good thing for us Windows users. They'll say this, the public will go "oh really?" and then Microsoft will have to fix whatever Apple was bashing on and thus we benefit.

Anyways, that's my "I just woke up and here's my two cents".

Yep, Win7 is pretty amazing so far. No problems so far

The auto-industry equivalent would be Toyota running ads that said "don't listen to Consumer Reports, don't believe your eyes, we're still better than Ford and GM... because we're Toyota".

I was amused by the ad. I'd say out of all of the OS launches Microsoft has done, this has been the best.

Hehe

I actually had windows 2 although I remember it being called windows 286... I also had a copy of windows 1 and it would actually install on 1 in 10 systems with no errors.

Exactly? Like, they put in a random number generator that made it fail?

Random why = new Random();
int fail = why.nextInt(10);
if(fail = 7){
install();
}else{
fail();
}

Hehe, We actually thought it was intentional;

if(biosreturncode = ibm){
install();
}else{
fail();
}

Aha! And here we thought that Apple was the only one to put hardware killswitches in their OS ;)
