I've heard of those before, Thinkgeek used to sell similar ones, but the reviews were not very good on them.

The reviews on those ones seems pretty good though..

Go for it! For $5, it's worth the risk I think. Parts Express carries good stuff, so it would be worth it I think.

One thing I wouldnt do is use them to vibrate a case, or part of a case. The risk of shaking hardware is a little too risky for me.

I saw those on some tech podcast. The general consensus was there actually very nice. Don't know what you could use them for.

Transducers are really good for transmitting the sound waves through something other than the air. People will put them in their couch and then keep the volume off (or at least the bass down) to let people sleep, but they can still hear. I used some transducers a while back to turn flat surfaces into speakers. They are a nice novelty when used in that way, but not practical. As a way to play music anywhere they aren't loud and the quality isn't great. People also don't want to hear your music. The boombox days are dead.

That said, nice transducers (no clue about the ones linked) are great to add super low frequencies to your mix. Instead of moving air you just vibrate what you are sitting on.

For $5 I think they are worth the risk if and only if you have a purpose in mind.
