I'm going to MCRD. I guess the only way to go to Parris Island is to be E of the mississippi or have a family tradition of going there.
That's funny you mentioned that because I was planning on leaving in about 10 min to stop by the post office.
Congrats! It's definitely a life changing experience. Make sure someone has your TBCS account info (or have someone register) to give us updates or post your address. FYI, MCRD is Marine Corps Recruit Depot. It can be either San Diego or PI.

If it's San Diego, I might make a congratulatory party for you.
But don't get killed!

I'll be missing Christmas, New Years, 3 year anniversary in Feb only to be home just soon enough to be leaving again 2 days before my 21st birthday. I'll be gone another month for Combat Training (POG) and leaving for Florida right after that for another 4 months then I can come home and relax a little. :)
Just found out my buddy's 21st is 4 days after mine and has a weekend booked at http://www.encorelasvegas.com/ Then his brother gets VIP to The Hard Rock and Pure and I was invited. :(
I have a feeling the Marine Corps may be a little different. :D
Thanks everyone for your support.
Hehe! I mean army as no specific corp/force. I know about USMC and US Army differences.
