So i mhaving a little lan party at my place this saturday, and im looking for some games to run. there will be either 5 or 6 of us, so they need to be fun for that amount of people.

Stuff we had last time were:

UT99
Quake 3
Dawn Of War
Serious Sam
COD 4

I cant really think of much else to play, apart from supreme commander and maybe one of the jedi knight games.

Some decent co-op games would be cool.

So anyone got any recommendations?

EDIT: The only co-op games i have really found that might be fun are diablo 2 and sacred 2.

Co-op mods would also be cool.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 is great in co-op. Cheap right now too. I think Fry's just had it for $10!

EDIT: only 4 in coop though...

I'm all for Left 4 Dead 2. It came out yesterday so people will be excited about it and there are plenty of achievements that people won't have yet.

Who cares about the achievements currently? I had a lot of fun in L4D2 scavenge last night. It's a game mode I highly recommend. When there is a mod to put in 8 more players, it will be mayhem but fun!

I guess I'm an achievement hound. I only have like 25 left in TF2 and have em all for L4D1, the HL series, and Portal.

i was thinking l4d2, but for 5 or 6 players im thinking it wont be great, unless they have added in bots to even the infected team in vs? i have only played campaign so far so im not sure!

always gotta rep hl2/team fortress 2, or even the old school half-life is still fun multiplayer. there are some really cool mods to download for both of them. (I wish they would make portal a multiplayer co-op game. how insane would that be?)

can always throw in some strategy games, like C&C 3 or something of that sort. :) I got hooked on wolfenstein: enemy Territory (and its free!) and I bet it would be fun in a lan situation fo sho.

Well, a few people couldnt make it, so it ended up being just 3 of us.
We played one campaign on l4d, then we fired up borderlands.
We played solidly for 6 hours, then did another 6 the next night!
I was extremely annoyed when the game came out, as we had been looking forward to it for ages, and when we found the multiplayer was completely broken, we were all pretty disapointed. i spent £30 on the game and wasnt able to play it with other people.
So we decided to try and get it working on the lan, and it was fantastic fun! so far its an amazing game, but i cant believe that gearbox still hasnt come up with a patch for the multiplayer yet. Its not a game i would even consider playing single-player, and i have no interest in playing with randoms either. (and even if i did that only seems to work about 35% of the time for me)

its a shame, we have had so much fun with it over the weekend, but until gearbox sort it out, its unlikely any of us will play it again until we lan, which isnt going to be any time soon.

Hmmm my borderlands multiplayer works flawlessly over the net with other people I play with, and I agree it is more fun with multiple people! All I did was forward my ports and it works. Sometimes it doesn't work when I'm playing single player and invite them but then I create a lobby and it works fine.

Yeah its strange, seems to work for some people, and not others.
I cant get it working with the port forwarding, and i even tried setting up a vpn, and that didnt work either.

i use game ranger to play borderlands online, gets past all the issues i was having with gamespy being useless.
