I want to mold my VCR into the pc case I'm making from scratch. Is there a way to inturnally hardwire the RCA input / output of a VCR into a video input PCI card and a PCI Express X16 graphics card?

P.S.
I have a working VCR and a lot of video tapes. I never use the VCR cause it's a pain in the butt to hook. But if I incorparated the VCR into my PC I would like to use it. Plus it would act as a TV tuner. :)

I would say if you have a very steady hand and are comfortable doing it you could solder the connections in. But in both cases you risk burning up the PCI card and the mainboard of the VCR.

+1

If you are building a PC into the vcr case, and it will be completely internally contained, then the only soldering you would do is from extension cables to the jacks on the vcr.. I imagine the rca jacks on the vcr wouldnt be that hard to desolder if you dont care about destroying the vcr. :D

I have an old vcr in the basement, I coudl crack it open and give you an idea of what to be looking for. You have to just remember how to hook each wire up because the RCAs are going to have 2 leads, inside is + and the outside is - if I remember my wiring correctly. I'll take a look when I get a chance though.
