So I'm testing just how cold I can get my server room (otherwise known as my office) for the next machine I'm building. Imagine loading into LOTRO at 100% load and being greeted with...
12C under full load. With traditional watercooling. I have to sit with a heater on my feet and in a big coat to handle it for extended periods, but what makes this even more interesting is that it's the same 4GHz OC as in the overclocking thread.
Step one, bring in an amazing ambient until the big toys come in: check.
For out Fahrenheit friends, that's full load at 53.6 degrees. I'm getting antifreeze this weekend for it.

12C for 3x4GHz cores isn't too shabby. It's just a few degrees above ambient in there.

Man if you turned the heat off in my house you would freeze to death. Its like 10f right now out side and this is the warmest its going to get today. This is still T-Shirt weather for us Wisconsin people...Now it like a month or two we will have days off because it gets so cold they shut school down. Not because buses can't start but any exposed skin can get frost bite in like 6mins and the wind chill just cuts you in a billion little pieces.
Want cold come to Wisconsin and pump air from right out side into your computer. Just don't water cool your computer if you do that because the H2O will freeze solid.

12C is awesome! Dunno if the sacrifice is worth the reward though lol. I am a baby when it comes to the cold. Anything colder than 50f and I am in layers of clothing. The 105f summer need to hurry up and get here.

Is this toy supposed to be a surprise? If not, what is it?

Its quite a big surprise. I am actually quite jealous. These temps should serve the new toy well.
@Luke No chance buddy. Maybe once this "global warming" stuff takes effect then I will venture to the great white north. Better have me some of those hawt Canadian chicks ready with cold Canadian beer. Eh!
