Ok, I got $500 from selling some junk, and am looking to upgrade an old rig. here's the list I have so far:

Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 512GDDR4
ASUS P5N-D
Intel Pentium E5200
Ultra X4 500-watt PSU
Corsair Dual-Channel TWINX 4GB (2x2GB) PC 6400 DDR2

this bundle comes to $434.96 @ Tiger Direct with free shipping

any other suggestions? I need to keep it under $500 with shipping included, and needs to run windows 7 @1080p on a widescreen. it doesnt need to be a powerhouse CPU wise. It does need to be full ATX size, no mini or micro ATX form factors

Thanks!

Do you just need the extra expansion slots?

no, its actually going to go into rockin case to replace whats in it, and the mounts are already set for a standard ATX form factor, and I think a mini ATX wouldnt look quite right in it. TBH all I need is 1 PCIe x16 slot for the video card and 1 standard PCI slot for the wireless card and thats it

Well, you could use the rest on a new chassis? Either pre-modded or you could pick up a cheapo and mod it to your liking.

What about overclocking? Do you have adequate cooling? Maybe you could upgrade that? Either pick up a nice HSF or if you already have one then maybe pick up some nice case fans, like Noctua or Panaflo (Well, Panaflo aren't really quite, but they do move crazy amounts of air). Expensive, but oh so nice and quiet. The Scythe Gentle Typhoon is pretty nice too.

Try browsing around Xoxide. That's always fun and it's almost guaranteed you'll stumble across something that you'll like or want.

its not going to get OCed, the board/proc/psu/card are going to replace whats currently in rockin case. what cmes out of that will at some point find its way into another mod, most likely a HTPC
