Hey guys,

I need to buy a crapload (probably > 100) of 74LS00 (quad 2 input NAND gates) chips for a school project, and I'm having trouble finding a good source to get them in bulk. I tried ebay, but the largest lots only seem to have ~10, or only have them as surface-mount (I need the kind that stick in a breadboard).

I know a lot of you guys around here probably buy LEDs in bulk, so I was wondering, would anyone perhaps know of a good online source that also sells logic chips?

Thanks :p

Digikey has them for $0.67 each up to 2000 then the price drops to $0.21

Futurlec has them for as low as $0.23 each if you order 100 or more.

What are you going to build with 100+ NAND gates?

Well, basically a whole range of logic circuits (and maybe even a really crappy computer :o). I figure purchasing a million NAND gates makes more sense then buying a bunch of other types of gates, since they can emulate all of them. I'll go with NOR gates if they're cheaper though :p.
