Want some more? We're getting a bit more by morning...it's fresh, high quality stuff, and FREE. How many hundreds of truck loads would you like?

Ok that does it. I'm going to Lincoln MT this weekend to get some real snow pictures.

Or I could just get a pic of the glacier that is forming in my back yard.

Hahaha, reminds me of growing up in Salisbury on the Eastern Shore of MD (the part on the peninsula). Since the bay warms up pretty much all the storms and turns them to rain, they get so little that if they have a 1/2 inch, schools are closed...2 inches and the entire town shuts down. :P

THE whole county is shut down here.

Folks who live up north don't know how bad it is when the southern states get ice on the ground. Up there, they have a fleet of trucks that treat the icy roads. Down here we have a single truck spreading dirt over the ice for the entire county. That's what makes ice so bad down here. We are not prepared for it to happen.

I would imagine if they just let people drive on it that stuff would melt up and run off. idk, though, maybe then the slush would just freeze over at night. But i find in PA once the roads are well traveled all that stuff just melts and its not an issue anymore. Maybe im underestimating the power of the our salt truck fleet.

That much snow is nothing for the Northeast. Thats like... when the roads just start to get fun.

We are not prepared for it to happen. Not only that but I'll bet most people down there have no idea how to drive in that weather, as rare as it is. I've seen firsthand cops directing traffic off the freeway "for safety" after half an inch of snow...that's just sad. A few days ago we had about 4 inches and the main roads didn't even get plowed for over 12 hours...it's just part of winter here. We learn to drive in snow at a young age though, so it's not even a problem.

Down here some folks do not know how to turn down their level of automotive aggression so they can safely drive in this weather. We get ice on the road about once a year here in my part of Texas and snow happens every two to three years. When we have precipitation and the temperature is below freezing, it usually just turns into freezing rain. Snow is pretty rare.
