That is gorgeous. If I can save my pennies right, I will get one and do a review.

I'd try it, but i need the side where my thumb sits to be open to the bottom.
I've developed the tendency to roll the edge of my thumb under the side of the mouse when im distance aiming on first person shooters (works hilariously well)
17-1 well (2 Tk's were so far out i couldn't distinguish what they were, but i shot anyways since they were coming towards our spawn, must of been getting ammo) haha they called it spawn camping, I call it shooting you from the other side of the map when you stand out in the open for a split second longer then you should. But anyways the thumb under the edge really works for me and lol damnit i need it.

But if every one of those knobs has a function, and its not just aesthetics, then that mouse would be hilariously Customizable....and i like that. especially if you can remove that thumb guard looking thing.
I've put so many miles on this mouse, the paint on the buttons and the palm rest has worn off.

I found a press release about this new line of mice. It looks like the version we want (USB) will be $99. Check it out here: http://www.madcatz.com/ces/press_releases/Cyborg_RAT_Press_Release.pdf

Unless you're constantly on a laptop, there's not much point to using a wireless mouse. They have a short signal range and the batteries will always die at the most inopportune time.
...like when you have the head of the enemy sniper that just saw you under your cross-hair.
...or when you're looking at questionable material online at work and your manager and the VP walk up.
...or when you quickly need to look up directions to your intended destination at the last minute when several people are waiting on you.
...or when Windows decides to restart after auto-updating and that little window with the countdown timer loses focus, and you desperately have to alt+tab through a bunch of windows full of unsaved work looking for that little ****.
My wireless mouse got broken.
I'll be waiting for the review of this one here on TBCS.

I'm going to try to get myself the wired one, if so I will review it for TBCS.

pish posh, wireless rocks! stupid cords....
i've been using my MX Revolution for years and never have issues with dead batteries. it's maybe died twice on me if that. i charge it maybe once a week and i use the pc at least 3-6 hours a day.
i don't have any lag in gaming either as i know that was an issue for some mice.

I will have to agree with Spawn on this one. Although there is some inherent lag with wireless mice, battery issues seem to be few and far between. I had a wireless keyboard and mouse for a while and loved it. I eventually switched back, but only because I built a whole new computer and wanted to try out some new stuff. I had a Logitech wireless mouse that you could not turn off unless you took out the batteries. I could use it for a few days on end without charging (it never died, so I really don't know how long it would last). I even took out the batteries and put it in a box for a year. Took it out to use later, put the batteries back in and it worked.

I tried two wireless mice thinking maybe the first one was just a battery devourer, but the second one wasn't much better. Neither had any latency problems. They both came with rechargeable batteries with Chinese (I'm assuming) text on them. After a few recharges I replaced them with rechargeable Energizers, after that, 1-time Duracells. The Duracells lasted the longest, probably because they're good ol' alkalines. Morel of the story: all the batteries died quickly. I'm pretty sure the companies didn't expect me to crack the mice open to remove the batteries every time I walked away from my computer...
Another con I just thought of: if it does die in the middle of something important, you'd better have a set of batteries or another mouse ready to go or else the important something is automatically on hold.
I obviously haven't used every wireless mouse, but from my limited experience, there is no benefit to using a wireless mouse with a desktop unless that single wire really, REALLY bothers you.
Pros:
No wire.
Very portable.
Cons:
Possible latency.
Limited range from dongle.
Solid objects (e.g. your desk) can block signal.
Possible to lose signal during work (or worse: play).
Possible mouse:batteries::cookie monster:cookies

Batteries lose charge slowly when they aren't in use, but you are right, no draw means that (theoretically) the charge should last indefinitely.

I put those energizer lithium batteries in my cordless mouse and have only replaced them once or twice. (have had the mouse for about 2 years? i think?) they last forever. lol oh its a wireless logitech. not a gaming mouse though.
