I don't know how I'd mod that but it's only $5 right now, damn good bargain although I prefer finding something existing and modding it to be a laptop stand, used to use a shelf from my minifridge flipped upside down. Wasn't pretty but the open wire shelve was great for airflow and organizing cables.

I prop mine up using carmex.haha you could throw nice led's in that thing.
