Hi all, I'm new to the forum here. First post and all.
Here's a Toco Toucan I just finished building.

Here's a video of Toco singing Lady Gaga's Bad Romance - this was just a test and his beak wasn't finished yet.

And here's my youtube channel where you can see more.

I'm a 2D/3D Animator, Artist, Modelmaker and I have been creating my own Animatronics for years now.
Toco the Toucan's skeleton is all cnc'd on my mill. He has 10 servos, speaker, speaker cabinet,
amp, stamp to control his iPOD, bluetooth, lipos, foam latex skin, brain and of course his iPOD.
He also has 2,000 hand sewn feathers to finish him off.

He's TOTALLY self contained and I hold him perched on my hand. The only time he's sitting is when I'm
making a video.

Enjoy

BerticusPryme, Thanks for the compliment. Creepy is walking around and someone thinks the bird is real, and then it starts singing the Mills Brothers "Yellowbird". HA LOL. Maybe I'll video that one day!

You know, I love his outside feathers and all, but I have go to tell you. I LOVE how he looks when you can see his mechanics and electronics. Maybe I'll post a pic of that soon.

Trace, I WISH I WORKED AT DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!
That pineapple on the video I created in 1994, and I went to an open call for Disney Imagineering in New York City. Filled out an app, waited to get an interview, and after seeing I had no formal schooling, they weren't interested and..............

I EVEN HAD THE PABLO THE PINEAPPLE in a case a ready to go, didn't even want to see it, no formal schooling..... no job. I really wanted that.

SgtM, Thanks for the compliment. Lady G, is a song I did for a young girl, and made a test video. Toco was just loaded with Christmas tunes and now I'm starting to build his repertoire of songs to play. Did you see his "Feliz Navidad"?

Thanks again for all the compliments, and as I make more
videos I'll post them for you.

I missed the Feliz Navidad. Didn't know there was more than one video. That's so lifelike it's freaky. Very fluid. A video of the electronics would be too cool. Disney lost out. +rep

Excellent. Really great job.

I would love to see the "guts" too. and some specs, How many servos, how long did it take, how long to program each song? are you using any motion capture? servo controller, etc. The more you can share, the better.

In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a bit of a motorization freak!
