Kinda old school but holy hell this is awesome. I want to build one so bad but $200 for a clock? Don't think so.

http://hackadaycom.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/onwall_l.jpg?w=470&h=462

It has no ICs and uses no programming.

194 Transistors
566 Diodes
400 Resistors
87 Capacitors

Looks like a ton of fun to build, to bad it's so expensive! :(

The Calendar (http://transistorclock.com/cal/index.html) looks badass too! ($440 for the green one! yikes! )

Yea it would be an awesome project to do over a few rainy days. Anyone wanting to learn to solder and become proficient at it would benefit with this one.

I'd say that would take me a day or 2 to solder all of that, looks like a learning experience to me! I'd love to see a version with purely SMD!

Whats truly amazing is that an Atmel chip smaller than the nail on your pinky finger can do the same thing and more. Heck the processors we use in our PC are 1/20 the size of this thing and they have millions more transistors than this.
