I recently purchased an ammo box that will serve me for my first case. I happened to come across it while at a hardware store called Northern Tool (used to be Norther Hydrolic), its a pretty nice national chain store. Alot better than Ace :). BEing new to modding, this might have a simple answer, but rather than screwing up something I would rather check here first.

To mount the mobo, I was still planning on using the riser bolts that are standard in any case. The problem is, I dont have a tap and die set for that small of a thread pattern, and worse yet, I cant find one at the local hardware store (Northern Tool is about an hour away). Is there even a tap and dye that fits this thread or is there some better way to mount my mobo? I guess i could just lay some foam down, and screw through the bolt holes in my mobo, through the foam to the case, but taht seems like a pretty cheap, cheesy, terrible way of doing it.

Thanks guys....

what i usually do when mounting a mb to something like that is drill holes where the mounting hardware would be, and just buy or make little spacers that fit on the bolts im using to attach it. the spacers i use are usually plastic, but you can use metal, as long as it doesnt short anything on the mb. if you want i can draw up a little photo in paint or photoshop or something for you

there are guide lines and white papers on the ATX mobo hole locations. Might be able to print one of those up.

As for the tap & die .. You might be able to find it more at Hobby Town in the RC area. Dont remimber what the threads size is.

AKA_RA how do you attach the spacers? I might be misunderstanding what you said, but could you elaborate a tad? I appreciate the fast responses greatly guys!
