umm....well that's a pretty vast amount of answers to be heading your way now...or none at all, around here you should really ask more specific questions if you really want an answer. Pick something like what you might wanna do and then ask questions about that. i.e. how do i put in a new window??? or how do i make a detachable cable housing unit to route my wires through my computer and have it modular??? get what i mean. another good suggestion is look and read, everyone else here has done exceptionally great work all around and researching their mods is a great way to get started and learn some stuff. anyways don't be afraid to ask any questions you will almost always get a response and good luck modding:D

Take a big look around all the threads. And then decide what you what you want to do and then go from there.

I wanted to start small, so decals etc.

Choose your decals and where you want to put them. I would also recommend painting your case.

Since it is my old back up PC I am going to put a window in thats the shape of the headshot symbol!

Ok, cut a window in the side, with large, rounded edges, and then go to a sign shop and have them print out the symbol on vynl (sp?) then stick it on the window. Add some lights, maybe some wire sleeving, and you'll have a very clean, simple case that will still have a very custom look to it.

EDIT: Look at my last project and see if that helps. very simple windows and mods, but it stands out because of simplicity and cleanliness. http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1856

Um it may be easy to get vynl in the US but I have never seen a shop in the UK that does custom vynl printing! Thanks anyway!

Yeah, it's pretty damn near impossible to get this sort of stuff in the UK. I might try and compile a list of places in the UK that do this sort of stuff at some point because finding places is very difficult, and finding affordable places is near impossible. Almost everyone asks you for a minimum spend of £100 (about $145) or similar, so you'd have to buy 200 sheets of plexi to get what you want, etc.

If anyone knows some good suppliers of modding gear, metal, plastic, vinyl, paint, and other such raw materials, then drop me an e-mail (mrniceguy_402@hotmail.com) or a message and i'll keep the info till i can put together a proper list. I think this would be pretty useful to guys in the UK, so please contribute if you think it's even remotely helpful.

I got a place for custom vynl cutting www.kustompcs.co.uk they also do decals cases etc! DaveW for the metals and perspex from homebase or B&Q lucky me I have a local crafts shop!!

None of the B&Q's or homebases sell anything better than acrylic. Which is ok for some things but isn't rigid enough for others. I get plastic from the Art Store in Glasgow, which is expensive, but the only place that actually sells Perspex in sheets smaller than 3*2 metres. Ironically, the only colour they stock is the colour i need :D

This has left me strugling to find clear perspex, but i'm hoping to find it sometime soon. That's a prety useful link custom: anyone else who knows a good supplier, i'd appreciate hearing about it.

Check out your local car accessory shops. These kids with their hotrodded Novas must get their graphics done somewhere.

Edit: When I lived in Livingston, there was a shop making just that. They had a thing like a plotter but instead of a pen, it had a cutter. They fed in sheets of adhesive vinyl, and it would cut through just the top layer, leaving the backing intact.
