Here's a 360 controller I was asked to airbrush for a friend. It's not cleared yet, and I'll take better pictures once it's back together. I'm using Auto Air paints, and a Devilbiss Dagr airbrush. I'm doing a PS3 controller too, but haven't started that one yet.

Dropped this off at the body shop this morning to have it cleared.

It looks pretty good, looking forward to the clear pictures. Might be a stupid question but why do you send it to get cleared as opposed to doing it yourself? Also how much do they charge to put the clear on?

Thanks. I wanted a good automotive grade clear coat on this. It might be worth some money to me in terms of extra projects. The guy clearing it is doing it as a favor. He has to clear at the end of the day and always has some left over that he has to throw out.

Nice of him, yeah was thinking about that it'll probably last better through wear and tear then using other clears.

Definitely the way to go - I use a high quality automotive 2k clear myself now - I've tried the aerosol lacquers and a 1k cellulose based lacquer and neither of them have the strength or durability. Fumes can be a little harsh, so I got me a good mask and only work out in the garden shed - for some reason the wife objects if the house smells of paint for a week......

Here it is in clear. All I have to do now is buff it, take glamor shots, and give it back. On to the PS3 controller!

Looks awesome! Quick question tho, isn't there supposed to be a number, or dot in that Halo logo?

Thanks Collins. In my reference picture, there isn't a dot or number. Though, looking at other pictures, it does look better with a dot in the middle.
