ok people wasnt sure where to post this.

i have a question on modding that i have yet too see.

Is it possible to build a computer but the only requierment is it must have
2 systems in 1 case.

like 2 motherboards, with each haveing own video, etc.

and ideas would be apprecitated.
now even tho this is not necessary i am trying to haveing this done by xmas.
just for the sake of it.

thanks for any help or advice.

sure but you will have to either get a big case or mod it with some case extensions and i would suggest have one board the proper way and the othe flipped upside down and facing the first board, it will get really really hot in there so cooling is a big big task for this one and i think it will be difficult to get two power supplies in...do you want these systems in serial/? so that they communicate with eachother?

you could always knock together 2 cases into one

You need to look for a Server class case. Many of them are designed with 2 PSU, and they have lots of room in the case. Heat is going to be an issue ,exsepecialy if your going to run 2 top end CPUs. You want to look in to water cooling, make each CPU it's own loop, with it's own RAD, and make sure that when apply power to the system that the pumps start too....(If you don't know how to do that.....Ask we'll help you out!)

Bout all I can think of Quickly!

Good Luck,

Umm....bye the bye it's been done before.Tranquillity (http://www.mashie.org/casemods/tranquillity1.html) Has 9 Mobos and 9 CPUs.

i would go 4 a simulation:) either make mocks out of cardboard and see how they fit in a case, or use a 3d modeling app (eg 3dsmax). This way, with enough pacience, u wont mess anything in real life. But i do think it's very posible to make an anti-symetrical system of two fully-assembled computers, by carefully positioning the parts :). the only Q i have is whether u would like 2 PSUs or a circuit derived from just one (big one), to turn on both systems at once...

holy cow 9 in 1 system. whoaaa. this might help me. but i just want 2

they will be seperate computers only hooking up by network.
so seperate motherboards, video cards, power supplies, etc.
i am not worried about heat i keep my room at around 68.

here are the systems:
intel 3. 4 EE

1 person gave me an idea of takeing a filing cabinet and play with it.
i already started using photoshop for drawing it but i think i might switch to
autocad if i think it will help. but i dont have it.
the hard part will be getting realastic pics and measurements.
like i said thanks to the help of seeing someone did 9 that will give me ideas.
