facebook is actually pretty nice. its much > than other social networks. IMO of course.

Still a time sucker with no real purpose.
I am in the process of having it (and other social networking sites) banned from work since people are spending WAY too much time farming and too little time working...

To be honest the only social networking site I am on is LinkedIn. I am still annoyed at how many messages I get from that site.

very true. although I have reconnected with people who I graduated with in high school. So that was nice. (for the most part)

Agreed with Billygoat. Facebook's only purpose is to say hi to old friends every now and then.

Social networking is only really a problem when people misuse it (which is way too ****ing often). I personally have blocked Farmville and only use Twitter to notify people when I update my comics or have an interesting thought that isn't about a sandwich or some other trivial thing that means nothing. If people still used MySpace it would be alright for music... but Last.fm is way better for that, anyways.

As to the contest... there is no way in hell that I am going to spam the **** out of so many pages, especially my own.

I have no problem spamming corporate pages and I regularly go through and remove fan-ship if a page isn't relevant to me. As far as my status, meh. Only downside to winning this contest is that there would be a lot of sanding and painting needed in the near future.
