Case is a Danger Den Double-wide Tower. Top, bottom, mobo tray are all ruby red acrylic, front and back are uv blue acrylic - the side panels you see are clear acrylic. He is also painting my two Feser 480 radiators, cover for a Silverstone Zeus 1200 PSU, part of Koolance pump housing/resevoir combo, and a small two HDD NAS box as well.

He will be painting my Windows Home Server box as well (also a Danger Den Double-wide Tower) but with a Star Wars theme including some sexy StormTrooper chicks ;)

Thanks for joining us!

For those not in the know, DB is quite the sponsored modder, and has a very long and impressive list of builds under his belt.

He also works closely with the crew at Danger Den, and therefore you'll see a lot of DD stuff in his builds-including a fair few custom blocks.

I'm proud to have you as a member of the site, and I hope you'll stick around for more than just project logs-'twould be nice if you graced us with some cooling knowledge every now and then as well.

Man, I'm glad you feel that way.

I've enjoyed it, it's a lot more grassroots than a lot of other places-sure, we have the awesome CNC (or airbrush) mods, but there's a lot of guys doing it on shoestring budgets and really making some works of art.

So what kinda goodies are going in this beast?

Wow.. I am a big fan of bomber nose art and this style of pin up art, and then you throw some old school flames in the background!?! How cool is that. You could put a intel 8080 chip in there and it will still be a smoking cool machine!

Looking forward to see more!

Thanks for the link Darth

You gotta be joking about the n00b bit though lol :D, your clearly not a n00b.

Had a look through your blog, some fantastic mods there and well done for getting in shape :), looks like you lost a fair bit :), feels better doesn't it, I was 19 stone about 8 years ago from having about 7 pints of beer a day and eating fast food regular, was getting over some trauma, and just got sick of it eventually and went off beer completely, I was really turning into a wreck heading for major physical health issues but was always keen on martial arts and sat and watched all the jet li movies and picked up a couple of great training ideas (finger press ups mostly) started off barely able to do 10 in 1 go and built up to reps of 140 and ended up getting addicted to doing 1000 or more per day getting high from the endorphins and the fat just disapeared after a pretty short while and my hands and fingers got uber strong lol :D, got down to 14 stone, went from females looking at me in disgust to wolf whistles which was nice :D , since put 2 more on because of gaming and slacking off and eating a little too much of the wrong foods and drinking nothing but coffee, I've been slowly slipping back into being a couch potatoe lol, gonna have to have another change.
I found I can lose a stone just from doing intensive modding, on the air cube v2 I lost 1 & 1/2 stone with all the filing and awkward positions in a cramped space for hours upon hours lol.

Back on topic :D.
Those air brush pieces look absolutely fantastic, skills like that would take I have no idea how long to develop, a decade? 2 decades?, I imagine graffiti artists take to air brushing really well. Real expert master level from the look of them, anyway, can't wait to see the full system with wicked haaawwwt art on :D, and look forward to seeing your future mods, need a +10 rep at least just for the ones on your blog :).

I am doing a water-cooled (CPU only) graphics workstation build for my air-brusher (in a bruiser-colored Danger Den Double-wide Tower). Nvidia gave me a Quadro FX 5800 GPU to put in it! That is almost a 3 grand GPU! I also picked up a couple 2 terabyte drives for it.

Had a few days home between trips so I got started . . .still waiting for four 480s and an Asus R3E . . .
First, I get my fittings sponsored and I do not want to shell out cash for those nice black ones so . . .
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/5456/dsc02249m.jpg
Ghetto powers . . . activate!
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/6668/dsc02251n.jpg
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4863/dsc02252ip.jpg
Will have to touch them up after installing but such is life:
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/3199/dsc02269p.jpg
Still waiting for fitting extenders so for now I am using other ones to test fit. I am using a set of Koolance manifolds to allow me to do a nice parallel setup. Will it perform well? Who knows?
http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7249/dsc02257s.jpg
The optical bay is one the back in this rig. It will house a Martix Orbital Typhoon display, one of the cool new Lamptron fan controllers, and a blue ray drive. I am thinking about stealthing the bay with modders mesh.
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/8621/dsc02259z.jpg

Using AC Ryan fan grills for contrast with the case.
http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/2312/dsc02268pf.jpg
Also will use inline temp sensors since I am using Asus ROG boards
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/4783/dsc02266w.jpg
By the time I get home from Miami I should have a sleeved PSU from Performance PCS and hopefully will know if I need to do short-term build with my existing hardware (have to be at a show on April 30th) or if my new stuff will be here.

Yup, definitely red. I didn't notice the green until you pointed it out, but now it really stands out to me.

Cool, blood red it is. Green is all I had at the time. I do have some red here now though ;) thanks for the input

Way awesome! I have been trying to think of how I could incorprate my Crystal Head bottle into my rig... Guess you beat me to it lol.
Sweetass idea, and to anybody wondering, the vodka itself was sweetass too!

I'll say the same thing here that I did there:

Yes, yes, you both used the same bottle. Good for you. I'm sure you weren't the first person to think it would look cool as a reservoir. Aside from that, this build is completely different. You make cool stuff, DarthBeavis, don't ruin it with pointless petty squabbling.

I'll say the same thing here that I did there:

Don't think you understand the reason I am pissed. From the article here:

From humble beginnings as a vodka bottle, this project has come a long way, and it's not quite complete, but I'm really impressed with what he's done so far, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. It's a refreshing thing to see, someone making something that nobody else has. My hat's off to you, Mark-this is what modding is about!

Funny when you look at Mark's post in my worklog last year:

Way awesome! I have been trying to think of how I could incorprate my Crystal Head bottle into my rig... Guess you beat me to it lol.
Sweetass idea, and to anybody wondering, the vodka itself was sweetass too!

again - just give credit to where the original idea came from

Sounds like you're upset with Kayin, not Mark.

And no, I don't really understand why you're pissed, but maybe that's just me. If everyone got upset when someone else used an idea they had, nobody would ever get anything done because we'd all be too busy complaining that somebody stole our idea. IMO, take it as a compliment that Mark thought using it as a reservoir was a good idea and leave it at that. If you're upset that Kayin said nobody else had done it before, proving him wrong is sufficient. I'm sure he would update the article to reflect that if you had simply brought it to his attention.

EDIT:
And as for "original ideas", the concept is so rare that I hesitate to call anything original. Like I said before, I seriously doubt you were the first person to think of using the bottle as a reservoir. I believe you if you say that you didn't get the idea from someone else, and I could even believe that you may have been the first one to do it, but to say that you were the first person anywhere to ever think of it is just naive. I'm not trying to start a war or slander you, that's just the way I see it.

I am pissed that when I brought it up Charles J Gantt decided to attack me instead of saying TBCS messed up. Mark should have given me credit - yes. But TBCS published the article to FB knowing their statement about him coming up with the idea was not true. Charles J Gantt, when faced with the truth - which I proved - chose to not do the right thing.

his post:

I will ask mark if he would like to credit you, and if he says no then that will be that, end of the story. I had not seen your similar mod until this came up on facebook. Maybe if you would actually participate in the TBCS community instead of just posting your work-log to appease sponsors then one of us would have noticed it.

Furthermore TBCS is home to the most famous modder ever to wield a dremel, Paul Capello. We are also the home of one of the best known up and comers who I get emails about all the time, Will Lyon. There is no reason to try and play the "Im the god of modding card" because we can match it.

TBCS posted the article that was incorrect not Mark. TBCS is the one who needs to fix it but instead they said if Mark choses to not change his worklog then nothing will be done with THEIR article is the issue.

From the modder's code of conduct regarding ideas and copyright (copied from a similar discussion at bit-tech). http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=197582&page=4&

1) Don't copy another modder's ideas or mod unless you get permission.
2) Say thank you and give credit if you copy a mod
3) Mark your stuff if you want to tell another modder if and how they can copy it. (Langer suggested Creative commons at one point/Kayin CopyLeft)
4) The internet is full of monsters. Don't post it if you intend to profit from it or don't want others to profit from it
5) If you think you have been slighted, talk to the other modder. You likely have more in common than you realize.

Finally, when in doubt, refer to the Bindi Precept "Don't be a dick." (Bindi©2010)

The idea was inspired by DB's mod. Mark should have given credit in his worklog so Kayin would have known. What's the big deal about printing a correction?

The only wrong I see anywhere here is an offhand remark by the journalist who wrote the article, failing to remember that one small part of the mod had been done before. I hadn't actually read the article before you mentioned it (since I have been following the project since its start), but comparing your quoted segment to the current text, it looks like Kayin has fixed the reference:

As far as I am concerned, the issue was handled well. I can't comment on any interactions on Facebook, as I have no knowledge of (and couldn't really care less) what happens on that site, but as for anything that happened here on TBCS, I think the matter was handled well by the staff. If you feel differently, fine, that's your prerogative. But don't expect anyone here to bend over backwards to please you.

TBCS is home to many, many talented individuals, any number of whom are at any time creating many great, interesting things. We share ideas freely, without any expectation of anything in return. I can't speak for everyone, but IMO, this system works beautifully, and I think we are all better for it.

Mark did an amazing job and deserves credit. Kayin would surely fix it but he is dealing with issues that are WAY more important. Charles J Gantt (not sure what his handle is here) is the one who refused to deal with it in a constructive way. He has effected more damage to TBCS when it could have been a win/win situation.

There has been an amendment made to the article in respect of this issue. I would point out a couple of things though.
First, Kayin wrote the article and I don't believe for a second he'd have phrased it that way if he'd seen the previous skull reservoir.
Second, I edited, proofread, and marked the article ready for publishing, and I guarantee that I hadn't seen the previous skull
Third, as soon as we were aware of there being a possible error or omission, we DID take reasonable steps to address the situation.
Fourth, and finally, I refer to "Rule" 5 of Mach's post. There was absolutely no need for this ridiculous public situation. If you read over most of the comments, they are NOT disagreeing with the original issue - that of uncredited inspiration - but finding issue with the way DarthBeavis has chosen to handle it.

Now how about we draw a line under this, LEARN from it (otherwise what's the bloody point) and move on.

Darth, I strongly reccomend you PM or email Mark regarding this issue. Sort it out between the two of you, in private - I'm sure he'll credit you albeit with a little prompting and we can ALL go back to some semblance of normality.

That's the nice polite way to put it. Less polite. Enough already - we're not here to argue and fight - lets sort it out and move on before things get out of hand.

DB, we've known each other a long time. I wouldn't intentionally slight you. As you said, life has been pretty busy for me resently, so I wasn't around to fix it immediately when it went out.

Even though it's fixed and there aren't hard feelings, I want to offer you my own apology-I don't believe I saw your skull reservoir first, and therefore I printed wrong copy. If you ever have an issue with something I wrote, let me know-I'll deal with it if it's factual errors. You have so many projects it's hard to keep up. And that IS a good thing.

I'm sorry that things went pear-shaped on this, but I want you to know that I had no intent to overlook you-if you know what's going on, overlooking is now one of the easiest things I do, unfortunately. That whole partial blindness thing.

That said, I think (hope) there are no hard feelings. We just moved Asher home so I've been offline, but I've been following this whole thing since I got on. I really wish I had done better homework this time, guys.

And I'll always be willing to admit if I'm wrong. Journalistic integrity. I try to have it.
