That black mobo is gonna give a good contrast for the red RAM.

Agreed.

What cooling are you gonna be using?

same cooler as i was before.

Getting 86F idle and i played some GTA4 for about 40 minutes and it hovered around 104-110.

Loud ass cooler though, i'll upload some pics in a bit. busy with the fam at the moment.

Holy **** it loads stuff fast, XP boots in two of them status bar scrolls.

If anyone wondered what the Exact ram limit on XP 32 bit is.

3,328MB.

Incorrect, that's still a varible. The maximum addressing limit on XP 32-bit is 4GB exactly. This includes GPU, caches, interrupts and RAM.

Turned it into a 965 X4, will sprinkle some higher multipliers on it in a bit.

2nd Benchmark 3.509.9Mhz CPU / 802.2Mhz (1600Mhz) Memory

Lol i don't know if i want to go any faster.

What do these processors typically get to,anyone know?

[edit] running prime 95 for 45 minutes got the cpu upto 114~115F stable. But i don't want to push it before the TMI sets up i suppose.

I thought it was pretty slick my system ram is 100mhz less then my graphics memory...

man times have changed since some PC-133 ram hahahhaha

[edit] so im still at 3500Mhz and im pretty happy with it. it's uber stable and the temps are really decent for only having some 24hr hold ceramique TMI. I can still back the CPU fan off to 3,500~3,800Rpm out of 7,000rpm (pretty much silent) and keep the processor under 100F watching movies and stuff.

I'll probably upgrade to a CoolIT Vantage A.L.C when them suckers come out.

But if any of y'all out there are thinking about a processor upgrade..man these are some gorrila data fighters. and i'd recommend them so far.

So i guess thanks to everyone for all the advise and tips (lol especially when i was wrong about something, need to know that sort stuff) really appreciate it.

GTA4 and Crysis run teh awesome now

There's a vid on Youtube that was posted here around the release of the Phenom II chip where the AMD geeks OC'd one to 5 GHz on liquid nitrogen IIRC.

lol i've seen that one. always thought it might of been bs.

got the rest of the doo-dads in the computer and fiddled with the cables a bit. but i need to re fold and pack the cables back into the 5.25" bay.

came out pretty cool looking!

hah i VHB'd that little 40mm fan hiding between the processor and chassis fan to blow on those mosfets.
