I want to stream the movies from my computer to my iPod Touch. Anyone know how to do this/best way to do this? Without having to spend anything?
I tried doing TVersity. But it wouldn't work. Now it doesn't connect or do anything. So I uninstalled it, tried reinstalling it and all it does is give me errors. So, I'm done with that program and would like to stay away from it if possible.
I also have a DropBox account, but since I can't afford anything other than free, I only have like 3GB's of storage and I think it only allows streaming of supported file types, where TVersity would transcode it or whatever on the fly. Something like that would be preferable.
Thanks in advance!

Sell the i-phone and buy a HTC or something similar that does actually support what your trying to do?
:p
Only thing i can think of is media streaming Via Blu-tooth, But i don't think i-phones have that capability.
But to be honest i don't fiddle with phones that much, my phone just makes phone calls and doubles as a dank Mp3 player.
watch movies on the 56"

You can stream with VLC. The ipod touch isn't a good media device when you think outside the apple box aka itunes and nothing else.

I don't have an iPhone. It does have Bluetooth though..
What about Orb?
Free is too limited and I don't have the cash for the paid version.
Isn't there a way to turn a pc into a server to achieve this goal? I might have to try TVersity again I guess. Hmm. Dangit, I need that 64GB iPod. lol

can you not browse files on the network with the iTouch? no idea.
searching TVersity I found this:
OK, I got it working. Had to go into Vista's Firewall and do two things: Allow access to wireless devices, then add mediashare.exe to the allowed programs list.
Thanks for all your help, everyone.

I broke down and bought Air Video after trying the free version.
It's awesome! Worked perfectly right away. It does both live and offline conversions. You can even close the app while you wait for the conversions to finish as it's all done locally on your computer.
Three dollars in couch change well spent! lol
