Any of our Northern American or Canadian TBCS guys going to LanETS in Montreal?

My brother wants me to go with him, but I'm not sure yet if I want to. Perhaps some TBCS members have already signed up; that may swing my vote.

Side note: Do you need a passport to get into Canada now? I'm reading conflicting things. Some say now its mandatory, yet on the Canadian border website it just says Americans need a birth certificate and photo ID or the like.

I go to Canada every summer. I would suggest a passport, go get one today and have a rush order sent for the extra $5. It's worth it, and ensures a smooth border crossing.

No need to have the car torn apart....

Unfortunately, I will not be attending. I usually only go to Lans around my area.

Just checked. New U.S. law by department of homeland security. That's why I couldn't find it on the Canada website.

So I can't get back into the US without a passport even though I was born and raised here but illegal immigrants can sneak across the southern border and use schools, hospitals, etc without issue. . . /end rant.

I don't have ~$200 to dump on an expedited passport just for the one and only trip to Canada I am likely to make, and hoping it gets here in time. Argghhh.

I got mine for the (65?) normal cost and it arrived in 1-2 weeks

Ya, I'm just not going to go. No point in wasting money on the hope that they get the passport to me in record breaking time. Regular is supposed to take 5-6 weeks or something, and the lan is in 4. Plus my brother doesn't have one either and lives 300 miles away from me. No point in hoping he does his on time AND breaks the odds as well.
