DVD Playback Hell

I've tried playing a few DVDs on my computer lately and can't get any of them to work. I've tried Media Player Classic, which comes with the KLite Codec Pack. MPC doesn't have the audio properly. I've tried the JetAudio Media Center, which displays no video. I've also tried VLC and it doesn't do anything at all. I removed Windows Media Player and all related programs because I didn't want my music library being shown to everyone on the network.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Nevermind, got VLC to work. Any ideas as to why JetAudio and MPC didn't work are welcome, though.

Maybe District 9 just hates you. Try it with anything else?
