My Laptop a Mayhem Z2 aka a barebones Asus S96J with a sticker on it.
Anyhoo while plugged in it is draining the battery and dying when the battery is dead. Brand new battery and yes it does charge the battery when it is off from the A/C adapter so I don't think it the adapter.
Any Ideas?

So, to clarify.. when it is plugged in and turned off, it charges the battery...but when it is plugged in and turned on, it drains the battery... If I got that straight, it sounds like you've got a problem with your power circuit. It is supposed to switch the laptop from battery to line power when it is plugged in, but something isn't getting switched properly and it's just staying on battery power. I would bet that the battery still charges while it is turned on, but since it is also drawing power from the battery, and Lion batteries discharge a lot faster than they charge...well, you get the picture. Unfortunately, the power circuit that died is almost certainly built into your MBB, so unless the laptop is in warranty, it is probably not gonna be cost efficient to repair it. One thing you could do is make an adapter to that you can send the current from the charger into the battery terminals (on the laptop, not the battery). It's kinda a makeshift fix, but it should let it run off wall power. :P

I have heard that terminal where you plug the AC adapter in on these is really bad about coming loose from the board but i opened it up and It didn't seem to be loose.
Opening up a laptop is nerve wracking for me I feel like im constantly going to break some clip that holds everything together...
If it is going to be that much of a pain in the @$$ most of the time that I would use it after I get my new desktop is probably going to be on battery power. So i can deal i guess:)

Exactly!

Haha.. does the laptop run if plugged in, and the battery is removed? It's possible that your power adaptor isnt putting out quite enough amperage to charge and run at the same time.
Try a different adaptor (as long as the voltage and plug match, and the amperage rating is the same or higher, you will be fine) to see if that is the issue.

It isn't one that runs without the battery unfortunately. But good Idea ill check out getting a different adapter.

My guess was that the controller circuitry is actually bad, not the physical terminal. The behavior you described sounds like it's not switching properly between the battery power and line power. The reason that laptops switch instead of just having both pulling from the same physical connection is that having it switch between the two reduces the risk of trickle-charging the battery. Trickle-charging is when small amounts of energy are constantly added and removed from the battery, and is one of the primary killers of lion batteries.
One way to test to see if it is this or Luke's suggestion would be to try running it plugged in without the battery in. If it works, then your laptop probably doesn't switch sources, and Luke is probably right; if it doesn't work, then it's probably the relay that is supposed to switch sources.

I think he said it didn't work with the laptop plugged in already :)

That he did..I think that was posted while I was writing ;)

OK, so if it's not working with the laptop plugged in but NO battery, then it's the switch circuit for sure.
Easy solution: charge while off, use until dead.
Better solution: repair/replace circuit
Best Solution: replace laptop
If this is the laptop that I think it is, it's got a 2gb ram maximum, an X1600 gpu, and a centrino cpu. I wouldnt spend much money on repairs for this system, so if you can fix it cheap, or just charge while off and use it on battery, I say go for it.
