I got a older atx case from before the days of 2gig processors lol.

Do you think it will still work it was a decent case it was windowed and has like 4 spots for fans in it. Only reason I ask is because if i can save that 100 bucks i can start on my from scratch case soon and maybe get a few upgraded parts in my build.

So long as it adheres to the atx layout you will be fine. I found I had an issue with a large power supply in one old case, but that was it.

/\ This. The ATX standard has been set since the late '90's, I believe, so it should fit just fine.

I third that yes.

I actually found that some older cases are built a lot better than newer ones. I found this 10 or so year old beige full-atx case with a removable motherboard tray, isolated power supply, and cable routing. Best of all, everything is made of top-quality steel.

Look out for me posting said case as a mod soon by the way...

Heheh, yup. There's definitely something to be said for 2mm steel  ...though it is an absolute pain to cut.. :dead:

I have some old cases laying around. I like the fact that the top and sides are all one piece. That would make some of my mod ideas easier without having to split the design onto three different pieces and having a space in the design where the panels separate.
