NVIDIA wanted to honor the memory of our friend and forum moderator Chris “ChrisRay” Arthington, who passed away earlier this year. ChrisRay helped countless gamers by sharing his knowledge of graphics and SLI on the forums.

To recognize ChrisRay’s passion and selfless support of the community, we worked with renowned modder Richard “Darth Beavis” Surroz to create a customized PC with NVIDIA artwork. The ChrisRay Special Edition PC features dual GeForce GTX 480 GPUs in SLI (of course!), and we’re going to raffle it off at PAX. All of the proceeds from the raffle will benefit ChrisRay’s mom, who could use a helping hand. Help us honor Chris by buying some tickets, and maybe you’ll win a truly kickass SLI PC!

thanks guys! Chris was a great asset to our community and passed on to the eternal LAN party beyond at the young age of 27. It is wonderful so the enthusiast community across so many forums are supporting him.

I really wanted to go, and had planned to once I heard it was announced. But registration wasn't open the last time I checked and now the 3 day passes are sold out. ARGHH.

Ehh, maybe I will take the fiance and day pass / walk around or something.

I checked DB's site http://outoftheboxmods.com/ and there's nothing there about this build right now...(there's a previous Nvidia charity build he did back in November, but I don't think it's the same thing as this one)

THey are just sending me the panels to mod. I will be laser-cutting tomorrow and will have pictures then

I will attach these to the MainGear case panels which I should be receiving any day now. I will then send the case panels back to be attached to the case for PAX and the raffle.

Nvidia asked me to make a case badge for a Main Gear case (they will raffle the rig off at PAX East and donate the money to CHris Ray's Mom). Here is is a mini-worklog>

Got the parts cut at Danger Den today working on putting them together. They will be back lit with UV LEDS. I will touch up the white lettering and also polish them up nice and shiney when I connect them to the case

Great job for a great cause! Looking forward to seeing the final shots. I won't be able to make it to PAX. Too bad there isn't a way to enter the raffle by proxy. Thats going to be one SLICK looking machine, and from what it looks like it won't be all show and no go!
