I replaced that sata cable and I'm still getting a 3rd master boot error. Its says to press F1 to continue but when I do nothing happens. just an underscore that keeps flashing. I set it to boot off the dvd drive first so I can use ultimate boot CD to check the hdd. It says press any key to boot and when I do it just keeps flashing that. Also, when I went to change it to boot of the dvd first the hdd was not listed! Help me plzzz.

the only thing I can think of is doing a bios reflash? idk. general wonkiness is always hard to diagnose lol.

unplug all your devices minus your hdd, and see if it see's it, if not try it in different ports ranging from 0 - max, your CD-ROM should be the last sata port, and HDD's in the first.

Try it with different cables, i had one cable which threw the entire SATA array into tears! try a different HDD to make sure its not the HDD failing, make sure your PSU isn't FUBAR, failing all that, try a BIOS flash, if that dosen't work,

I'm stumped, maybe try using s postcard

I get the feeling this thread is a continuation of a troubleshooting process.. I would have commented sooner, but have idea what's been done before this, or even specifically what the problem is.

Can you give some more details?

I'm with Xcom though, try his suggestion. :)

Sounds like you MBR is hosed. Did you do an OS install recently or something?

no. I got a new graphics card. I was having trouble with the drivers, finally got that sorted. Then this issue started. I will try to unplug everything.
