anyone have any good suggestions for a soldering stand? basically looking for the helping hands really, not too concerned about the actual stand. lol cheap is nice.
EDIT: guess this could be put in the modding q&a or somewhere else, if a mod sees fit to move this I won't mind :)

I picked up my stand at a sporting goods store, it was designed for fly-tieing. Wow that looks weird when I type it out..
But yeah, my helping hands + magnifying arm was something like $12.95, and it has a nice heavy iron base. :D

I picked mine up at harbor freight for like $10 - came with a soldering iron stand and a magnifying glass with 2 LED lights in it
:EDIT: found it and I lied, its $7 lol

It's fly-tying. And I contemplated putting this in the Rookie's Nook just cause I'm feeling a bit ornery tonight, but my conscience got the better of me.

I have the same one, but I don't use the magnifying glass nor the iron stand. It's a decent set up and has a sponge holder.

I use the magnifying glass sometimes, the LEDs a lot, but never the iron stan or sponge holder - my iron came with a base with sponge holder so I use that instead

I use a $12 one from radio shack that's about 6 years old. I rarely use the mag glass and have added larger alligator clips. I want to build one of these one day http://www.instructables.com/id/Ultimate_DeskSquid_Helping_Hand/
