Hell, at ~$1.5-2 million (estimating from previous models), You could probably get that added if you wanted it. ;)

I like the windshield wiper blade sticking straight up. kinda like the car is giving the finger to any would-be buyers who don't have the $$...or the cajones to handle it LOL

Hahaha, I like. The real reason it's there is to improve aerodymics and function though. A prime example is..I forget exactly, I think it was some Ferrari that they were testing on Top Gear once; when it got over ~120mph or so, the windshield wipers rose off the glass. (and this on a car that wouldn't top out until about 50-60mph over that)

You know, I just realized that a picture of the front of the car is a bit...well, not very useful. I mean, face it if any of you...ok, us... :( ...who are never gonna own one ever see it, it's gonna look more like this:

EDIT:
You know, I wonder if this will finally dethrone the Bugati Veyron as the world's fastest production car... The Veyron's top speed is listed at 253.8mph, and the preliminary specs for the Agera say it'll be "245+mph".... granted, the Veyron will likely get there faster, but I wonder....

It's been dethroned (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSC_Aero) for a few years now.

SSC announced they had broken the speed record for the world's fastest production car with 259.12 mph (417.01 km/h) in West Richland, WA on September 13, 2007. The reported record speed came from an average of two runs in opposite directions, in accordance with Guinness Book of World Records rules. The first run clocked 257.44 mph (414.31 km/h) and the return trip 254.91 mph (410.24 km/h). The results of this test, verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007, gave the SSC Ultimate Aero the title of world's fastest production car, with a top speed of 256.12 mph (412.19 km/h).[18] This beat the previous record holder, the Bugatti Veyron, that has a top speed of 253.81 mph (408.47 km/h).

That car is built in my hometown of . . . *drumroll* . . . Richland, WA. You wouldn't expect that now would you?

Im not so sure of that...top Gear raced a Maclaren F1 against a Veyron and the F1 beat it, not by much but it was pulling away the whole time :whistler:

the veryon has a limiter on the top speed.

so did the Jag XJ220, it wasn't as fast off the line to 40ish, but as soon as the jags superchargers kicked it it just flew past it until the jag hit its limit of just over 200MPH, but the problem is the jag isn't very good at corners.

If you look at it on paper, the veyron will beat a F1 car to 100, but the F1 could get to 100 and stop quicker, go round corners quicker.

Top speed, not fastest around a track. ;)

I'd forgotten about the SSC Ultimate Aero... That is a sweet car.

I love it. In reference to the 2009 model:

If they can find a long enough stretch of road, SSC predict 287 mph (462 km/h) is possible.

good lord....that's getting close to funny car speed. And this car....well...it ain't funny, that's for sure.
what I've always wanted to know is (and the guy who built it hasn't tested its speed) how fast the jet-powered volkswagon bug is:

that'd be a negative LOL. he says toward the bottom of his page:

"*** Update 7/18/06 *** You have to give the California Department of Motor Vehicles (the DMV) credit for creativity on this one. A DMV insider has disclosed to me that the DMV has made a formal request to a federal agency to rule if my Beetle constitutes a threat to national security based on what could happen if it got into the wrong hands. This raises three questions in my mind: #1 Does this mean I’m the right hands? #2 If someone with the name "b_laden13" is the highest eBay bidder for my Beetle can I refuse his offer even if he has the prestigious eBay Red Shooting Star feedback rating (the highest)? #3 Would this affect my eBay rating? "

Two things come to mind: The Bonneville salt flats and I90 between Billings MT and Bozeman MT.

I was thinking more along the lines of VW's test track in Germany where Top Gear tested the Veyron...not sure they would be happy about letting a competitor on it though....

I've thought that same thing. Why not take it somewhere like that? My guess is that they don't have the money to do something like that. If you are from the tri-cities (like me, where the Aero is made) you will know that Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco are the three main cities. West Richland is like this speck. I don't even know where their production facility is in West Richland. It's really quite strange. There's nothing out there.

Looks like the old Koenigseggs.

They really should get some new designs.

Just sayin'.

Now, having said that:

hell yeah swedish supercars
hell yeah koenigsegg
also the back looks pretty ace.

I'm reminded of an old saying: "Don't fix what isn't broken." ;)

If you look closely though, there are subtle differences; most noticeably the rear. It's cut lower and it's actually the first time they've put a spoiler on the standard model.

EDIT:
A friend sent me the link to this. Second half is just panning over the shots on the website, but first half is video footage of it in action...and audio of the engine... 8D
